15 Ukrainians have been returned from temporarily occupied territories, reported the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets. The oldest among those returned is 96 years old, and the youngest is 49. Many of these citizens had been waiting for years for the opportunity to leave.
Among those returned is a 96-year-old woman, her daughter, and son-in-law from the occupied Zheleznyi Port in the Kherson region. The woman needed constant care, and her son-in-law was moving with an Ilizarov apparatus. A 74-year-old man from Kakhovka, who had remained in occupation for years fearing that his departure could harm his son, who was in Russian captivity, was also successfully evacuated. After his son was freed, the man decided to leave, but his health condition deteriorated sharply, and he is now under medical supervision.
Lubinets also noted that for some people, returning begins without documents, as they were lost or became invalid.
