On October 8, 2026, in the Lviv region, a collision occurred between the diesel train Lviv — Sokal and an electric locomotive during departure from the Pidzamche station. As a result of the incident, five people were injured.
Details of the Accident
According to information provided by Ukrzaliznytsia, the collision happened at the moment the diesel train was departing from the station. The injured include:
- the diesel train driver, who sustained a leg injury;
- four passengers who are receiving medical assistance.
Local Authorities' Response
Lviv's mayor Andriy Sadovyi confirmed that rescuers are working at the scene to free the driver trapped in the cabin. He also noted that the drivers of the electric locomotive were not injured.
