Air Quality Deterioration in Kyiv Region: What We Know

As of November 1, 2026, a temporary deterioration in air quality has been recorded in six settlements of the Kyiv region. Specifically, this concerns the cities of Ivankiv, Bila Tserkva, Vyshneve, Obukhiv, Boryspil, and Brovary, where a moderate level of fine particulate matter has been observed.

Causes of Air Quality Deterioration

According to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration (KOVA), the increased level of fine particulate matter is noted in the mentioned settlements. However, it is important to mention that its concentration is gradually decreasing. Rain and wind accompanying the weather conditions contribute to air purification, positively affecting the overall air quality index (AQI).

Air Quality in Other Settlements

In other settlements of the Kyiv region, no exceedances of permissible pollutant levels have been detected. The overall AQI remains within safe limits, indicating no critical threats to public health. The level of gamma radiation also corresponds to the natural background, which is a positive indicator for the ecological situation in the region.
