In October 2026, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) will consider the restrictions imposed by Russia on the import of products from Armenia. Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan reported that the country has requested the EEC to recognize these restrictions as a trade barrier and to remove them.
Reasons for Armenia's Request
Armenia believes that the restrictions imposed by Russia negatively affect its economy and trade relations. Minister Papoyan noted that these barriers create obstacles for exporters and may lead to a decrease in trade volumes between the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
