On October 1, 2026, an incident occurred in Kyiv when a Russian drone "Shahed" struck a regular school. Fortunately, due to timely action, children and teachers were in shelters during the alarm, so there were no injuries.
Consequences of the Attack
As a result of the drone strike, a fire broke out on the third floor of the educational institution. Significant damages were also recorded:
- a partially destroyed wall;
- damaged windows;
- damaged doors.
President Zelensky's Response
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to this attack, emphasizing that Russia must be held accountable for its actions. In his statement, he noted that Russian military forces continue to attack the lives of Ukrainian children and schools, which is unacceptable. Zelensky called on international partners to increase pressure on Russia and provide additional support packages for Ukraine.
“Russian bastards continue to attack the life of our country, Ukrainian children, our schools,” he stated. The President also expressed gratitude to everyone who helps Ukraine during this difficult time.
