Blackout in Dnipro: Consequences of Attacks and Emergency Power Outages

On October 30, 2026, Dnipro is facing another blackout due to severe damage to its energy infrastructure caused by Russian attacks. The city's mayor, Borys Filatov, reported that energy workers had been working throughout the night, but the system is unable to cope with the load.

Current Situation with Power Supply

No electric transport is operating in the city, including:

  • trams
  • trolleybuses
  • metro

Only buses are running. Water supply is being maintained through generators. According to representatives of DTEK, emergency power outages have been implemented in Dnipro, surrounding areas, and parts of Pavlohrad district.

Consequences of Russian Attacks

During the night of October 30, Russian forces attacked the Dnipro railway station again. As a result of these attacks, 14 people have died, and another 18 have been injured. Not only residential buildings have been damaged, but also critical infrastructure, including:

  • equipment of main power grids
  • other energy infrastructure objects

Energy workers continue to work on restoring power supply, primarily for critical infrastructure facilities.

Government and Energy Workers' Response

The authorities urge residents to be cautious and adhere to safety regulations. Energy workers emphasize that during emergency outages, schedules do not apply, and they are working to restore power supply as quickly as possible.
