In Ukraine, several cases of botulism have been reported following so-called "beauty injections." This information was provided by the Center for Public Health of Ukraine.
Regions with Reported Cases
This year, botulism cases have been registered in three regions:
- Poltava Oblast
- Kharkiv Oblast
- Khmelnytskyi Oblast
Symptoms of Botulism
Among the dangerous symptoms that may indicate botulism are:
- double vision
- muscle weakness
- difficulty swallowing
- respiratory problems
These symptoms can quickly lead to respiratory failure, which is a serious medical condition.
