Starting from October 27, 2026, a ceasefire will be implemented in Oleshky and the Kherson region, which will also cover neighboring areas. This was announced by Ukrainian ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets. The decision will allow for the organization of humanitarian routes to deliver aid to local residents.
Humanitarian Initiatives
Following the introduction of the ceasefire, a number of measures are planned to improve the situation in Oleshky:
- Demining of roads leading to Oleshky;
- Delivery of humanitarian aid, including food, drinking water, and medicines;
- Funding for the local hospital to ensure medical assistance for residents who remain in the city.
Organization of Evacuation
The next step will be the organization of evacuation from Oleshky for all those who wish to leave. According to Lubinets, Ukraine has proposed several new initiatives that have received support from Russia. Representatives from Ukraine, the USA, and Russia will monitor the implementation of these agreements.
Confirmation of Ceasefire
Kyiv and Moscow have already officially confirmed the local ceasefire in Oleshky, which will begin at 3 a.m. on October 27. This is an important step towards humanitarian assistance and stabilization of the situation in the region.
