Today, October 2, 2026, the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) announced new restrictions on bridge operations in the capital due to an increased threat of air attacks from Russian forces.
List of Bridges and Their Status
According to the KCSA, the following restrictions are currently in effect in Kyiv:
- South Bridge — completely closed for vehicle and metro traffic;
- Metro Bridge — traffic restricted to one lane from the left bank to the right;
- Paton, Northern, and Podilsk-Voskresensky Bridges — traffic restricted during air alerts from the right bank to the left;
- Darnytsky Bridge — operates without restrictions even during alerts.
Reasons for Restrictions
The traffic restrictions on the bridges were implemented in response to recent enemy strikes on the capital's infrastructure. Following several attacks, the South Bridge was closed to ensure the safety of Kyiv residents and visitors. The KCSA urges everyone to consider these changes when planning their trips.
Public and Government Reaction
The authorities ask citizens to be understanding of the new traffic conditions and to follow the recommendations. Information about changes in bridge operations will be continuously updated, so it is important to keep an eye on the news and official announcements.
