On September 29, 2026, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced changes in defense tactics aimed at strengthening the protection of the capital in response to new enemy attack tactics.
New Defense Approaches
According to information provided by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Yevheniy Khmara, the defense forces must adapt their operations to effectively respond to new threats. The main goal is to destroy enemy targets while they are still approaching Kyiv, which will help reduce risks to the civilian population and infrastructure.
Strengthening Layered Defense
To implement these new strategies, the Ministry of Defense plans to:
- Strengthen the operations of aviation and air defense (PPO);
- Ensure coordination among mobile fire groups;
- Conduct regular training for military personnel to enhance their readiness for new challenges.
These measures are aimed at providing more effective protection for Kyiv, taking into account changes in enemy tactics that may threaten the security of the capital.
