Starting from November 9, 2026, new reserve traffic schemes will be introduced in Kyiv for crossing the Dnipro River. These changes are initiated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine to enhance security and optimize transport flows in the capital.
Details of the New Traffic Schemes
According to information provided by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ivan Vygivskyi, the changes will affect three main bridges:
- Paton Bridge: a reversible traffic scheme will be implemented. From 07:00 to 10:00, three out of five lanes will operate towards the right bank, and from 16:00 to 20:00, towards the left bank.
- North Bridge: trucks will be redirected via the Podilsky Bridge. The movement of public transport and passenger cars from the left bank to the right, as well as in the opposite direction, will be restored.
- South Bridge: trucks moving from the left bank to the right will be directed via the Darnytsky Bridge. There will be no restrictions for passenger cars and public transport.
Reasons for Changes in Traffic Schemes
The changes in traffic schemes are related to additional security threats arising from the current situation in the country. The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasizes the need to relieve the bridges and ensure safe movement for the residents of the capital.
Further Actions and Information for Drivers
Detailed traffic schemes will be published on the official pages of the patrol police. Law enforcement will also monitor the approaches to the bridges and the most congested road sections to ensure unobstructed passage for drivers.
