On October 27, 2026, changes were announced in the operation of the metro and ground public transport in Kyiv. This is related to the increased load on the 'red' metro line, which requires adjustments to the routes of ground transport.

Changes in Metro Operations

On the 'red' metro line, train services are operating between the stations «Akademgorodok» and «Lesnaya». All stations, including «Chernigovskaya» and «Lesnaya», are open for passengers. Meanwhile, on the 'green' line, trains are running between the stations «Syrets» and «Vydubychi», but service between «Osokorky» and «Krasny Khutor» has been temporarily suspended. In case of an air raid alert, all underground metro stations serve as shelters, with specialists on site.

Adjustments to Ground Transport

Due to the changes in metro operations, the ground public transport in Kyiv is being reinforced. On the temporary bus route № 1-M, 15 units of rolling stock will be in operation. Additionally, due to the closure of the South Bridge, the routes of buses № 22 and № 91 are being altered to run via the Darnytskyi Bridge.

  • On route № 22, the number of buses will be increased by 4 units — a total of 14 buses will be in operation.
  • 5 buses will operate on the short segment from Trostyanetska St. to the metro station «Lybidska».
  • On route № 91, 4 additional buses will also be added — a total of 7 units of rolling stock will be in operation.
