The situation with electricity supply in Ukraine has become critical following massive strikes on energy infrastructure. As of November 3, 2026, the city of Zhytomyr has been left almost completely without electricity, and the water supply is being provided by generators, which are planned to be shut down at night.
Situation in Zhytomyr
In Zhytomyr, according to local media, there is no electricity supply, and the water supply operates on generators. If the situation does not improve, warming points are planned to be opened for residents starting at 09:00. Local residents are experiencing significant difficulties due to the lack of electricity.
Conditions in Other Regions of Ukraine
In addition to Zhytomyr, serious electricity supply problems are also observed in other regions:
- Kyiv: in some areas, there has been no electricity since the morning, with particularly severe conditions on the left bank, where there are also disruptions in water supply.
- Kyiv Region: forecasts indicate the possibility of electricity outages lasting up to 18 hours.
- Volyn: part of the region has been left without electricity following targeted strikes, including the center of Lutsk.
- Kharkiv: due to shelling, part of the city has been left without heating and hot water, and emergency outages have been implemented.
- Sumy Region: special emergency outage schedules have been introduced, and water utility facilities have been de-energized.
Impact on the Energy System
As a result of the attacks, three thermal power plants of DTEK have ceased electricity production due to extensive damage. Ukraine's energy system is under serious strain, and the situation with electricity supply in many regions remains extremely difficult. Local authorities are urging residents to exercise caution and be prepared for prolonged power outages.
