Today, November 8, 2026, Ukraine celebrates the Day of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This day is dedicated to the soldiers who demonstrate heroism and strength in all the most intense combat areas.
The Contribution of the Air Assault Forces to Ukraine's Defense
Since the beginning of the full-scale war in 2022 and from 2014, the units of the Air Assault Forces have participated in many defensive and offensive operations, ensuring the necessary results for Ukraine. The paratroopers have defended:
- Donetsk region
- Kyiv
- Southern Ukraine
- Zaporizhia
- Kharkiv region
Particularly noteworthy is their heroic participation in the Kursk operation, which first transferred combat actions to enemy territory.
Operations of 2026
In 2026, the Air Assault Forces demonstrated active and extremely effective actions in the Oleksandrivka direction. Thanks to their efforts, more than 800 square kilometers of territory were liberated. This further confirmed the high professionalism, courage, and strength of the paratroopers.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated the paratroopers on their holiday, thanking each soldier for their service and contribution to the defense of the state.
