Drone Attack: Damage to "Samara" Oil Depot and "Astrakhan" Gas Processing Plant

On October 2 and 4, 2026, drone attacks caused significant damage to Russian facilities: the "Samara" Oil Depot and the "Astrakhan" Gas Processing Plant. The Ukrainian General Staff confirmed information about extensive damage at these sites.

Damage to the "Samara" Oil Depot

The "Samara" line of water supply and distribution, located in Prosvechtiye, Samara region, suffered considerable damage. Following the attack on October 2, the following was confirmed:

  • damage to 11 RVS-20000 tanks;
  • damage to 3 RVSPK-50000 tanks;
  • damage to sections of pipelines;
  • damage to the automated fuel loading station.

Damage to the "Astrakhan" Gas Processing Plant

On October 4, 2026, the drone attack also caused damage to the "Astrakhan" Gas Processing Plant located in Astrakhan. According to the General Staff's report, the damage includes:

  • damage to elements of two gas purification units (U-172 and U-272);
  • damage to the secondary distillation block (U-1.731).

These events indicate the continuation of the conflict and the use of unmanned aerial vehicles to strike critical infrastructure facilities.
