According to the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA), the work includes excavators digging trenches and setting up fencing around the construction site.
Details of the Heating Network Construction
The construction of the new heating network is being carried out according to an optimized project that aims to preserve a significant number of green spaces. Specifically, about 160 trees are planned to be preserved, while only less than 10 plants are slated for removal. Other trees will be pruned to ensure safety and access to the construction site.
The Importance of the New Heating Network
The new heating network is critical for providing heat to residents of the Teremky-1 and Teremky-2 residential areas. In the event of an emergency or a shutdown of the thermal power plant (TPP), this system will ensure heat supply to homes, which is especially important during the winter period. According to city officials, if construction is delayed, over 200,000 residents could be left without heat.
