As of October 8, 2026, it is now possible to process the European accident protocol for minor traffic accidents (TPA) through the mobile application 'Diia' in Ukraine. This innovation will simplify the document processing for drivers involved in accidents under certain conditions.
Conditions for Processing the European Protocol
To utilize this new feature, several conditions must be met:
- The accident must involve only two vehicles.
- There should be no fatalities or injuries.
- Both drivers must have valid mandatory insurance policies.
Processing through 'Diia'
Filing the European protocol in the 'Diia' application is simple and convenient. After filling in all the required information, the system will automatically verify the data and send the European protocol to the insurance companies. This will save time and reduce paperwork for drivers.
Comments from the Ministry of Internal Affairs
Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine emphasized that this innovation aims to simplify the accident processing procedure and reduce the burden on road police. According to them, the introduction of electronic services in the area of accident processing is an important step towards the digitalization of public services.
