On October 30, 2026, the Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reported the completion of the evacuation of residents from Oleshky who wished to leave for Ukrainian-controlled territory. Humanitarian aid has been delivered, and the ceasefire has been ongoing for 87 hours without any violations.
Evacuation Process
Lubinets noted that everyone who wanted to leave Oleshky had the opportunity to do so. He is personally coordinating the humanitarian mission, which is being conducted in agreement with the Russian Commissioner for Human Rights Yana Lantratova and with the assistance of the First Lady of the USA Melania Trump. All evacuation columns have already split up, and people are currently on their way.
Humanitarian Aid
Humanitarian aid was delivered for those who decided to stay in Oleshky. Lubinets emphasized that the organization of the process was carefully planned:
- People did not take large suitcases with them; separate transport was provided for this purpose.
- Suitcases were checked in, and people received tags for identification.
- Data was recorded quickly, with oversight from both Ukrainian and Russian staff.
Ceasefire
The Ombudsman also mentioned that the ceasefire has been ongoing for over 87 hours, and during this time, no violations have been recorded. This has been made possible by the efforts of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, who ensured the safety of the humanitarian mission.
