On October 13, 2026, as a result of drone debris falling and a fire at the 'Adrenalin City' entertainment center in Lutsk, a part of 'Cosmogony' — the largest painting in Ukraine and one of the largest paintings in the world — was damaged.
What is 'Cosmogony'?
'Cosmogony' is a gigantic art installation that combines painting, philosophy, performance, and modern technologies. This painting tells the story of:
- the origin of the Universe;
- the evolution of humanity;
- the development of intelligence;
- the understanding of the future.
Impact of the Fire on the Artwork
According to Tetyana Repnytska, the director of the Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art, the fire destroyed one of the six parts of 'Cosmogony', titled 'The Future'. This is a significant loss for Ukrainian art, as 'Cosmogony' is not only a national but also an international cultural treasure.
