On October 16, 2026, a fire broke out in a high-rise building in Uman due to the crash of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). According to the head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration Ihor Taburets, there are currently five reported casualties, with three individuals hospitalized.
Incident Details
The fire occurred in the morning when the UAV crashed into a residential building, causing significant damage. In addition to the high-rise, a guardhouse was also destroyed, from which rescuers managed to pull out a man. As of 05:49, medical personnel provided assistance to two other victims on-site.
Response of Rescue Services
Emergency services are currently on the scene, having localized a fire at nearby commercial warehouses that also ignited as a result of the drone crash. Rescuers are continuing to address the aftermath of the incident and provide assistance to those affected.
