On the night of September 21, 2026, Zaporizhzhia was subjected to a massive attack by Russian forces, resulting in five people being injured.
Details of the Attack
According to the acting head of the regional state administration Semikin, among the injured are three men and two women. The injuries were sustained as follows:
- four individuals were injured due to a shell hitting one of the apartment buildings;
- one person was injured as a result of a strike on another building.
The aftermath of the attack is currently being addressed, with rescuers working at the scene.
Destruction and Rescue Efforts
The shelling caused damage to two nine-story residential buildings, where fires broke out. Additionally, a fire ignited at a shopping center, and a fire occurred in the building of a higher education institution.
Emergency services managed to rescue five individuals, while 16 local residents received psychological assistance from State Emergency Service specialists.
