The government of the Federal Republic of Germany is considering the introduction of state regulation of fuel prices at gas stations across the country. According to sources, the initial plan is to reduce the energy tax or the overall cost of fuel by approximately 14–17 cents per liter starting from October 1.
After that, officials intend to set a maximum price ceiling at gas stations no later than January 1.
