Today, October 16, 2026, the heating season begins in Kyiv. The mayor of the capital, Vitaliy Klitschko, announced that heat will start being supplied to social institutions such as hospitals, schools, and kindergartens.
Procedure for Heating Connection
The connection to heating for social institutions will occur based on individual requests from their managers. This means that each institution must submit a request to connect in order to receive heat.
Exceptions in Heating
Currently, heating will not be supplied to parts of the Dniprovskyi and Darniytskyi districts. This is due to significant damage to an energy facility caused by recent shelling from the Russian Federation. Restoration work in these areas is ongoing.
Extreme Conditions
Mayor Klitschko emphasized that the heating season is starting under extreme conditions due to ongoing shelling, which complicates the process of restoring infrastructure and providing heat to residents.
