On October 18, 2026, Dynamo Kyiv announced the dismissal of Igor Kostyuk from the position of head coach. This decision was made following a disgraceful defeat to Polissya with a score of 1:3 in the 9th round of the Ukrainian Premier League.
Reasons for Dismissal
The club president Igor Surkis decided to dismiss Kostyuk after the team's poor performance, which played with a numerical advantage from the 5th minute. This defeat was the last straw, as under Kostyuk's leadership, Dynamo failed to achieve the desired results in the league.
Team Management After Dismissal
In preparation for the upcoming matches in the Ukrainian championship, particularly against Kudrivka, the team will be coached by acting head coach Maciej Kendzorek. He has experience working with youth teams and hopes to lead the team back to victory.
Statistics Under Kostyuk's Leadership
Igor Kostyuk took over Dynamo in December 2025. During his tenure, the team:
- won the Ukrainian Cup;
- finished only 4th in the league.
These results, according to the club's management, did not meet the ambitions and expectations, which ultimately led to his dismissal.
