Today, alongside others, we remember Ukrainian Hero Ihor Tafeyev from the Kyiv region.
Ihor was born on February 15, 1979, in the village of Tomashivka. After finishing school, he continued his education at Fastiv Vocational Technical School and later enrolled in the Kyiv Slavic University, where he specialized in international relations. Ihor got married and became a father to a daughter and then a son. He worked in Belgium for some time.
When the full-scale invasion of Russian occupiers began, Ihor returned to Ukraine and signed a contract with military unit 3030 of the National Guard of Ukraine. He later transferred to the 3rd Operational Brigade "Spartan", where he served as a platoon commander.
Ihor participated in combat operations in the city of Bakhmut, where he sustained his first injury. After rehabilitation, he continued his service and fought in the Zaporizhzhia region.
On November 7, 2023, Ihor Tafeyev went missing during a combat mission near the settlement of Novoprokopivka. It was only in September 2025 that the family was informed of a DNA match, and his status was changed from "missing" to "deceased".
