The electricity supply situation in Kyiv remains extremely challenging. Due to large-scale enemy attacks on Ukraine's energy system, both generation and transmission of electricity have been damaged, leading to emergency power outages.
Causes of the Emergency Situation
According to Mayor Vitali Klitschko, recent attacks have damaged facilities in the Kyiv regional energy hub. This has resulted in:
- Emergency power outages across the capital;
- Disruptions in water supply;
- Issues with the operation of public electric transport.
Measures to Support the Population
In response to the emergency situation, heating points are being set up in areas of Kyiv where the situation is most critical. At these points, residents can:
- Charge their phones and other electronic devices;
- Enjoy hot tea;
- Receive necessary support in cold conditions.
Specialists from Kyivvodokanal are working to stabilize the water supply in order to balance the system and restore electricity to residents' homes.
