Kyiv Introduces Backup Traffic Schemes for Bridges

Starting November 9, 2026, Kyiv will implement backup traffic schemes for bridges to improve connectivity between the banks of the Dnipro River. This was announced by KMDAs representative Ivan Vihivskyi.

Changes in Bridge Traffic

The main changes affect three key bridges in the capital:

  • Paton Bridge: from 07:00 to 10:00, three out of five lanes will operate towards the right bank, and from 16:00 to 20:00 — towards the left bank.
  • Northern Bridge: freight transport will be redirected via the Podilsky Bridge crossing. At the same time, public transport will resume its operation between the banks.
  • Southern Bridge: trucks moving from the left bank to the right will be redirected via the Darnytsky Bridge, while passenger cars and public transport will face no restrictions.

Recommendations for Drivers

Drivers are advised to plan their routes in advance, as detailed traffic schemes will be published on the patrol police's pages. This will help avoid traffic jams and ensure more efficient movement around the city.
