Kyiv may face serious interruptions in water supply due to prolonged power outages, as stated by energy expert Stanislav Ignatiev during the MorningLIVE program.
Causes of Possible Water Supply Interruptions
According to the information, during power outages lasting 2–3 hours, the water supply system will be able to maintain the necessary water pressure. However, if the pumps remain without electricity for 8–10 hours, the situation will become complicated. In this case, approximately 3 hours of stable power supply will be needed to restore water delivery.
Consequences of Prolonged Outages
The expert notes that Kyiv residents should be prepared for possible "water blackouts." This means that in the event of prolonged power outages, the city may be left without water for an extended period. The main risks include:
- Power outages lasting 8–10 hours.
- The need to restore water supply after prolonged outages.
- Time required for stabilizing the water supply system.
Recommendations for Kyiv Residents
In light of possible interruptions in water supply, the expert advises Kyiv residents to prepare for such situations. This may include storing water in case of prolonged power outages. It is also important to stay updated with news and recommendations from local authorities.
