Kyiv: People Blocked the Road Due to Power Outages

Yesterday, on November 4, 2026, a protest took place in Kyiv where people blocked the road due to prolonged power outages. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky responded to this situation, stating that he contacted the Minister of Internal Affairs regarding the power supply issues.

Reasons for the Protest

According to the president, there were not enough workers at the energy facility, which led to delays in repairs. Zelensky emphasized that repairs cannot be conducted "in a half-hearted manner", meaning with insufficient personnel. He also noted that the police responded quickly to the situation by bringing all electricians to the site, which allowed the protesters to disperse.

The Power Supply Situation in Kyiv

The president also mentioned that Kyiv is facing the most challenging situation with electricity due to numerous Russian strikes and damage to the energy infrastructure. Even when sufficient electricity is produced in Ukraine, it is not always possible to deliver it to the capital due to damage to the networks.

Assistance from the USA

Additionally, Zelensky touched on the topic of financial aid from the United States, stating that Ukraine has not received $16 billion according to previous agreements. He stressed the importance of continuing to work on new aid packages and the necessity to fight for the promised funds.
