Kyiv residents should prepare for potential 'water blackouts' that may occur due to prolonged power outages. Energy expert Stanislav Ihnatiev has warned that the situation could significantly impact water supply in the capital.
Causes of Possible Water Blackouts
According to Ihnatiev, prolonged power outages can lead to the shutdown of pumps that supply water. If electricity is unavailable for 8-10 hours, it could cause serious problems with water supply in the city.
Recommendations for Residents
The expert advises all Kyiv residents to prepare water reserves in advance, as restoring water supply after prolonged power outages will require additional time. A minimum of 3 hours of stable electricity supply will be needed for the reliable restoration of water supply.
Current Situation with Power Supply
It is worth noting that in the case of power outages lasting 2-3 hours, water supply can still maintain pressure, but longer periods without electricity may complicate the situation. Kyiv residents should be ready for such changes in water supply to avoid potential inconveniences.
