From the evening of November 3, 2026, tram and trolleybus services in Kyiv have been temporarily suspended. This decision was made due to a critical situation in the energy system caused by Russian shelling.
Reasons for the Suspension
According to the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA), the shortage of electricity is the primary reason for halting electric transport. Hostile attacks have led to significant damage to the energy infrastructure, complicating the supply of electricity for trams and trolleybuses.
Alternative Routes
While some routes of electric transport will be duplicated by buses, the KCSA warns that buses will not be able to fully replace the absence of trams and trolleybuses. Specifically, it is planned to transport passengers on:
- 30 trolleybus routes
- 10 tram routes
Metro Situation
Currently, the metro in Kyiv operates as usual. However, in the event of further deterioration of the electricity situation, adjustments to its schedule may be made. Authorities urge residents to be cautious and follow updates regarding transport operations.
