As of October 16, 2026, Kyiv is facing serious challenges in preparing for the winter season. The city is not ready for winter yet, as energy supply is being managed according to schedules, and heating remains a major concern.
Energy Supply Issues
The energy situation in Kyiv is alarming. The city currently lacks stable electricity supply, complicating preparations for the cold months ahead. According to local Telegram channels, energy is being supplied according to schedules, which may lead to interruptions in electricity delivery in the coming months.
Winter Holiday Preparations at VDNH
Amidst the energy supply challenges, VDNH (Exhibition Center) is actively preparing a "Winter Country" for the residents of Kyiv. This project aims to create a festive atmosphere for the capital's inhabitants, despite the difficult conditions. VDNH promises various attractions and events that will help residents feel the spirit of winter.
- Creation of festive markets
- Organization of entertainment events
- Decoration of the area for the holidays
Thus, while some parts of the city face serious challenges, others are trying to maintain a positive mood and prepare for the winter holidays.
