On September 27, 2026, the Ukrainian military conducted a large-scale operation to deliver food to the residents of occupied Oleshky in the Kherson region. According to the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, approximately 4,000 kilograms of food were transported via drones to 100 designated locations in the city.
Chronology of Aid Operations
The assistance to the residents of Oleshky using drones began back in March 2026. This initiative was a response to the critical humanitarian situation in the region, where access to food, water, and electricity is severely limited.
The following units were involved in the systematic deliveries:
- the "Bolharichі" unit of the 11th National Guard Brigade;
- the military of the 34th separate marine brigade "Borysfen";
- the 30th marine corps;
- the tactical group "Hrim";
- the 34th National Guard regiment;
- the 79th border detachment.
Situation in Oleshky
According to the latest data from the Kherson Regional State Administration, about 2,000 people remain in Oleshky, including nearly 50 children. The situation in the city is critical:
- serious problems with access to food;
- insufficient drinking water;
- lack of electricity;
- the possibility of leaving the city is effectively blocked.
The drone food delivery operation is an important step in supporting civilians who find themselves in difficult conditions due to military actions.
