On the night of September 24, 2026, the Russian Federation launched a massive attack on the territory of Ukraine, employing various types of weaponry, including ballistic missiles and drones. The main areas targeted were the Odessa and Kiev regions.
Types of Weaponry Used
The attack involved the use of:
- anti-ship missiles "Zircon",
- ballistic missiles "Iskander-M",
- strike UAVs, particularly the Shahed type,
- loitering munitions "BanderoL" and "Dan-T",
- imitation drones "Parody".
Results of the Attack and Air Defense Response
The forces and means of Ukraine's air defense managed to neutralize a significant portion of the enemy targets. As of 08:00, the following was recorded:
- 4 anti-ship missiles "Zircon" shot down,
- 3 ballistic missiles "Iskander-M" intercepted,
- 1 loitering munition "BanderoL" destroyed,
- 219 UAVs neutralized.
At the same time, strikes were recorded on 13 objects within Ukraine, and debris from downed missiles fell in 10 locations. Despite these efforts, the attack continued, with dozens of enemy UAVs still detected in the airspace.
