On October 19, 2026, a 26-year-old traveler from Vinnytsia lost his way while hiking from the Zaroslyak area towards Hoverla mountain. Deteriorating weather conditions caused the man to freeze, prompting him to call for help from emergency services.

Rescue Operation

Mountain rescuers from the village of Vydrychka quickly responded to the call and spent four hours searching for the lost traveler. During the rescue operation, they discovered that the man was not dressed appropriately for the season, which significantly complicated his situation.

Conditions on the Route

The highland area where the operation took place was snow-covered, and the air temperature was freezing. A stormy wind posed additional threats to the life and health of the traveler. In such conditions, having appropriate clothing and gear is crucial, as it can be a decisive factor in survival.

Assistance and Transport

After locating the man, the rescuers warmed him up with hot tea. To ensure his safe return, they transported the traveler on a quad bike to the village of Bohdan in the Rakhiv district. This allowed for a quick evacuation from the dangerous area and provided necessary medical assistance.
