A new ring of air defense positions has emerged around Vladimir Putin's residence in Valdai. This information was revealed by an investigation conducted by Radio Free Europe, which discovered over 15 new towers erected to the south of the residence, on the side facing Ukraine.
Details of the New Positions
The new air defense positions have been constructed in close proximity to the residence, raising concerns regarding security and defense. Some of the new facilities are located near the Khotilovo base and Lisiy Island, where military personnel are also engaged in the construction of a laboratory complex.
Significance for the Region
These developments indicate an increase in Russia's military presence in this strategically important region. The construction of new air defense positions may be a response to threats from Ukraine and other potential adversaries. Such actions may also suggest preparations for possible military actions in the future.
