As of October 3, 2026, new rules for bridge operations during air alerts are being implemented in Kyiv. This decision was made after the occupiers began to deliberately target the Southern Bridge.

Traffic Restrictions on Bridges

The head of the patrol police, Alexey Biloshytsky, announced temporary traffic restrictions on four key bridges across the Dnipro River:

  • Southern Bridge — traffic will be completely closed;
  • Darnytsky Bridge — one lane will be open for traffic from the right bank to the left;
  • Metro Bridge — traffic will be closed from the left bank to the right;
  • Podilsko-Voskresensky Bridge — traffic will be closed from the left bank to the right.

Reasons for the New Regulations

The introduction of these restrictions is due to the threat to citizens' safety. Kyiv authorities are taking measures to prevent potential consequences from attacks that may threaten the lives and health of people. The situation in the country remains tense, and the new rules aim to ensure safety during air alerts.
