Starting from December 4, 2026, new regulations will come into effect in Ukraine, prohibiting businesses from continuing operations during a 'yellow alarm' without proper shelter or safe space.
Requirements for Shelters
According to the new norms, ordinary corridors or windowless rooms cannot be considered shelters against potential strikes from Russia. Therefore, enterprises must ensure the presence of specially equipped places for the protection of their employees.
Employee Rights
Until December 4, 2026, work without protective structures is permitted only with the consent of employees. After this date, if shelter is not equipped, businesses are required to cease their activities during a 'yellow alarm'. Additionally, employees have the right to leave a dangerous workplace and move to a shelter even during an alarm.
Importance of the New Rules
These changes aim to enhance employee safety and reduce risks associated with possible attacks. Authorities urge businesses to take the necessary measures to equip shelters by the specified deadline.
