New York has introduced 'smart toilets' that impose time limits on visitors. This innovation, costing the city $4 million, follows a similar trend in China.
Features of the 'Smart Toilets'
These toilets are equipped with a motivational system designed to encourage users not to linger too long. Each visitor entering a cubicle can expect the following actions:
- after 5 minutes, the music turns off;
- after 8 minutes, a notification about the imminent door opening is activated;
- at the 10-minute mark, the lights start to flash and the doors automatically open;
- if the visitor does not exit, security is called.
Visitor Ratings
After using the toilet, visitors can rate their experience in a special mobile app. This not only helps monitor service quality but also encourages users to adhere to the established time limits.
