In the night of September 24, 2026, Kyiv was attacked by Russia, resulting in the deaths of two people and at least eight injuries. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), the attack occurred in several districts of the capital.
Consequences of the Attack in Kyiv Districts
The attack affected several areas of Kyiv, including Solomianskyi, Podilskyi, and Dniprovskyi. The strikes caused significant damage and fires:
- Solomianskyi District: warehouse buildings were partially destroyed, leading to the spread of fire to basement premises. Three injured individuals were hospitalized.
- Podilskyi District: as a result of a strike near a maternity hospital, four vehicles caught fire in the parking lot, where the body of a deceased person was also found. At another location in the district, a one-story non-residential building was on fire.
- Dniprovskyi District: a three-story administrative building was damaged, and a private house was destroyed. Rescuers managed to save one person, and two neighboring buildings were also damaged.
Response from Authorities and Rescue Services
The Mayor of Kyiv Vitalii Klitschko confirmed the information about the casualties and injuries. He noted that there may be people trapped under the rubble, and rescue services continue to work at the sites of the incidents. Fires in all districts have been extinguished, but rescuers remain on-site to check for any potential victims.
