On the night of September 26, 2026, the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully repelled a massive enemy attack, during which 173 strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the types Shahed, Gerbera, and imitation drones of the type "Parody" were recorded.
Details of the Attack
The attack began at 18:00 on September 25 and continued into the morning of September 26. The enemy deployed over 50 reactive UAVs in an attempt to breach Ukraine's air defense. To protect the airspace, the following forces participated in the defense:
- aviation;
- anti-aircraft missile troops;
- electronic warfare units;
- mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
Defense Results
As of 07:30 on September 26, the air defense of Ukraine managed to shoot down or suppress 134 enemy UAVs. Hits from the enemy's air attack were recorded at 19 locations, and debris from the downed drones fell at 8 locations. This indicates a high level of readiness and effectiveness of the Ukrainian military units in countering aggression.
Current Situation
The enemy's attack is ongoing, and several enemy UAVs remain in the airspace. Defense forces urge the population to adhere to safety rules and remain cautious.
