On September 22, 2026, the Ukrainian police summarized the results of a large-scale operation called 'Gentlemen', during which over a ton of cannabis was seized and 96 individuals were arrested. The operation consisted of two phases and included 968 searches across the country.
Results of the Operation
As part of the operation, law enforcement dismantled 23 drug laboratories and seized drugs worth over 350 million UAH. Specifically, during the second phase, which took place in September, the police seized:
- 838 kg of cannabis;
- over 40,000 cannabis plants;
- amphetamine;
- alpha-PVP;
- weapons;
- explosives;
- over 5 million UAH in various currencies.
Illegal Cultivations and Arrests
Illegal cannabis cultivations were found on abandoned plots, in forest belts, and on agricultural lands. One of the largest harvests was discovered in the Zhytomyr region, where cannabis was grown among sunflowers. Here, 570 kg of cannabis and 29,435 plants were seized.
Additionally, in Kyiv, police uncovered a cannabis field amidst corn, where three men were growing, drying, and packaging cannabis, disguising it among clothing for postal shipments. During searches in this case, over 12 kg of cannabis valued at 5.6 million UAH, as well as cocaine and psilocybin mushrooms, were seized.
Further Actions by Law Enforcement
In total, 181 individuals involved in the case were notified of suspicion. The police continue to work on dismantling drug-related crime in Ukraine and preventing the distribution of drugs on the black market.
