On September 20, 2026, the commander of the Third Army Corps, Brigadier General Andriy Biletsky, reported on the successes of the 'Vivaldi' operation in the Lyman region. Within this operation, Ukrainian forces have liberated several settlements and regained control over 125 km² of territory.
Successes of the 'Vivaldi' Operation
The 'Vivaldi' operation is ongoing, and as a result of the first two seasons, the following settlements have been liberated:
- Shandryholove
- Derylove
- Drobysheve (full control)
In total, 125 km² of territory has been returned under Ukrainian control, of which 50 km² were de-occupied. According to Biletsky, Russian military losses exceed 3,000 personnel.
Technical Innovations in Combat Operations
The Brigadier General also noted that the Third Army Corps has become the first in the world to commence the airdrop of ground robotic complexes. Heavy bombers are delivering kamikaze drones over a distance of more than 10 km into the enemy's rear. Artillery and drones are striking enemy command posts, logistics nodes, and crossings.
Current Threats from the Enemy
In addition to military actions, Ukrainian intelligence warns about attempts by Russian special services to obtain information about railway facilities. The enemy may offer money for photos and geolocations of railway objects or even request damage to railway property. Ukrainians are advised not to succumb to such offers and to report suspicious incidents.
