On October 20, 2026, Poland's Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski announced that the country cannot provide Ukraine with missiles for the Patriot system. According to him, Warsaw does not have the necessary missile stocks and is calling on other NATO countries that possess such missiles to assist Ukraine.
The Importance of Patriot Systems for Ukraine
The Patriot system is one of the most advanced air defense systems capable of protecting against missile attacks. Ukraine is actively seeking support from Western allies to strengthen its defense capabilities amid ongoing aggression. The transfer of missiles for the Patriot system is critical for ensuring the security of Ukrainian airspace.
Poland's Response to Ukraine's Needs
Sikorski emphasized that Poland is already providing Ukraine with all possible assistance, but the stocks of missiles for the Patriot system are exhausted. He urged other NATO countries that have the capability to support Ukraine in this crucial matter. Poland continues to work closely with NATO partners to ensure regional security.
