Protests in Teremky: Kyiv residents oppose tree felling

Protests continue in Teremky, Kyiv, against tree felling related to plans to lay a backup heating pipeline in case of an emergency shutdown of TEP-5. Local residents are opposing the destruction of green areas in the territory designated for construction.

Local Government's Position

The Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) proposed a revised project for the construction of the heating network, which aims to preserve about 160 trees. However, it is reported that around 10 trees are slated for felling, while some others will be pruned.

The Kyiv City Council has also initiated the dissolution of the "Municipal Guard" during the period of martial law. Council members Mykhailova and expressed concerns about the actions of the organization, which they believe exceeded its authority by using force against the protesters.
