Restoration of Starlink Operations: New Opportunities for Drones

As of October 14, 2026, the Starlink system is restoring its operations at speeds of up to 160 km/h. This news was announced by the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov, who confirmed that strike drones and interceptor drones will be able to resume their missions.

Resumption of Drone Flights

According to the information released by Fedorov, the new capabilities of Starlink will not only allow the resumption of strike drone flights but also improve their effectiveness. Fedorov noted that it is now necessary to work on removing speed limitations for the Starshield system.

Reaction to Changes

The restoration of Starlink's operations has elicited a positive response among military experts. They believe that this will significantly enhance the operational capabilities of drones in carrying out combat missions. In particular, interceptor drones will once again be able to actively counter enemy UAVs, thereby increasing the overall security of airspace.

Current Situation with Drones

At this moment, according to Fedorov, interceptor drones have already begun to actively perform their functions, including:

  • Destruction of enemy drones;
  • Conducting reconnaissance missions;
  • Supporting ground troops in combat operations.

Thus, the restoration of Starlink's operations is a crucial step towards enhancing the effectiveness of Ukrainian military actions in the air.
