Today, October 30, 2026, traffic has been restored on the Southern Bridge in Kyiv from the left bank to the right bank. Passage is allowed only for passenger cars in one lane, which became possible after a technical inspection and obtaining expert conclusions.
Traffic Restrictions
According to information from the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA), traffic in the opposite direction, from the right bank to the left bank, remains closed. This is due to ongoing technical works on the bridge. Drivers should consider the following restrictions when planning their routes:
- Passage is allowed only in one lane.
- Vehicles with a total weight of up to 10 tons are permitted.
- Passenger cars have priority.
Technical Works and Future Plans
The restoration of traffic is taking place in stages. Specialists from relevant municipal enterprises, together with scientists, are working on technical solutions for repairing damaged bridge structures, including those that ensure the operation of the metro. The opening of traffic on this section is planned after the completion of all necessary works.
Impact on the City
It is worth noting that as a result of the recent nighttime attack from Russia, there were destructions and fires in Kyiv. In the Dniprovskyi district, a one-story building was destroyed, and in the Darniy district, warehouse premises caught fire. These events highlight the importance of safety and stability in the city's infrastructure.
