This morning, on October 20, 2026, train services were restored on the red metro line in Kyiv between the "Akaдеммістечко" and "Lisova" stations. The "Lisova" station is now operating in normal mode, which is an important step towards improving transportation in the capital.
"Chernihivska" Station Remains Closed
Despite the restoration of services at other stations, the "Chernihivska" station is temporarily closed for passenger transport. Trains are currently passing by this station without stopping. Further information regarding the reopening of the "Chernihivska" station will be provided later.
Damage and Consequences of the Shelling
Yesterday, during a nighttime mass shelling of Kyiv, the "Chernihivska" station suffered significant damage. Specifically, the following was damaged:
- stained glass windows;
- platform;
- station facade;
- tracks;
- contact rail;
- power supply and traffic management systems.
To address the aftermath of the shelling, over 70 specialists from various departments of the "Kyiv Metro" were engaged. Their efforts allowed for the rapid restoration of services on the red line, and we express our gratitude to all the workers involved.
