On September 21, 2026, Ruslan Kravchenko, the former Prosecutor General of Ukraine, officially left the prosecutor's office. The corresponding order was signed by the acting Prosecutor General Anton Koval'skyi.
Reasons for Dismissal
Kravchenko did not return to fulfill his duties after a foreign assignment that ended on September 18. This provided grounds for his dismissal from the position of prosecutor at the Office of the Prosecutor General (OPG). As noted by OPG spokesperson Maryana Haiovska, after being dismissed from the position of Prosecutor General, Kravchenko remained in the status of an ordinary prosecutor but did not resume work.
Context of Dismissal
Ruslan Kravchenko was dismissed from the position of Prosecutor General on September 15, 2026. This occurred shortly after he signed a suspicion notice against the head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and a person close to the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP). The suspicions arose as part of an investigation by NABU and SAP into fraudulent schemes associated with call centers, which, according to the investigation, were allegedly protected by the former head of the State Tax Service, who was Kravchenko from December 2024 to June 2025.
