Today, October 5, 2026, Kharkiv was the target of an attack by Russian forces, resulting in five deaths and 39 injuries. The mayor of the city, Ihor Terekhov, confirmed this information, noting that the bodies of two more victims were found under the rubble of a sewing workshop.
Details of the Attack
The assault on Kharkiv was carried out using three guided bombs, which struck several locations, including an industrial area and near a residential high-rise building. As a result of the shelling:
- five people were killed;
- among the deceased are two men aged 62 and 35;
- one person died directly in the residential building;
- two fatalities were caused by falling debris.
Injuries and Destruction
According to the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, 53 people were injured in the attack, including:
- an 11-year-old girl in serious condition;
- a 15-year-old boy in moderate condition;
- a 15-year-old girl who experienced an acute stress reaction.
The destruction in the city is significant: over 30 apartment buildings and 30 private homes have been damaged, as well as a warehouse facility. The total area of the fire is nearly 15,000 square meters. Emergency services continue rescue operations, as there may still be people trapped under the rubble.
